Texas SB 797 requires schools to display donated posters that have the national motto, 'In God We Trust,' on it. With this project, we wanted to test the extent of the law. We made a number of designs including our nation's motto in multiple languages (Spanish, Arabic, Hindi, and Telegu) and including a more inventive graphic design.  Upon donation, however, our district rejected our donation. This confirmed that this wasn't really about national pride, the celebration of our nation's diverse communities, or of a dedication to the law. What this law's enforcement really meant to do was to ensure the presence of conservative Christian religion in our public schools and violate our first Amendment rights.
